The Vicar leads a team of lay people who are authorized by the Bishop of Tonbridge. Readers are licensed to a teaching, preaching and worship ministry; they share certain pastoral care duties with the Vicar. They are able to officiate at many of the services of the Church of England but cannot ‘preside’ at the Mass (Holy Communion) or take weddings; or Baptisms. Pastoral Assistants (assist the Vicar) and may hold a range of tasks—mostly to do with pastoral care and parish work in the community, under the guidance and supervision of the Vicar. |

Since taking Holy Orders, Fr George has served in parishes in Southwell, Chelmsford and Southwark Dioceses, prior to ordination he worked at the HQ’s of The Scout Association, Liverpool City Housing, Airedale Hospital and was a member of the Scargill House community. |
